Greener Grass - Poem
I'm sick of walking around.
With my eyes glued to the ground.
I want to see faces and trees.
People enjoying their day.
I like lights on buildings.
People on main street.
Cars on the highway.
Having a purpose to go outside.
Even just to exercise.
It's not enough sometimes.
When you can't escape darkness.
Having to travel 50+ miles.
To visit a place with promise.
Starts to become depressing upon returning.
Try coming up with a plan.
To move to that 'promised land'.
Not sure I have the confidence to succeed.
The grass is dead and brown.
But alive and well further south.
The grass is green.

Better Luck Next Time - Poem
I'd just like something in my life.
That doesn't make me want to shoot myself in the eye.
I think I'll have better luck next time.
I wish that I could pause this mess.
Rewind to the start like a VHS.
Replay from the beginning.
Refuse any scenario that has led me to this.
Stressing over minuscule plans.
Bruised from being punched when I needed a hand.
None to be lent.
I was wrong to share who I am.
My mistake believing someone else could understand.
All a lesson I won't forget.
I think about the past, and I think about the future.
The times I laughed and the changes in my demeanor.
I could never add up. I could never shine.
Don't want to continue with this name.
Want to go to sleep and wake up with a new face.
