To take what I thought was mine.

A man with an unfaltering drive.

Arrived on New Year's Eve.
Shocked by what I'd seen.
Thousands of people just like me.
They could play, and dance, and sing.
Grew up being told I was special.
Unique and one of a kind.
My heart was crushed.
I was sold a well meant lie.

Adjust to a new reality.
Just another fish in the sea.
Accept I can be beat.
